Dr KRIPALINI responds to ThinkWellness360 questionnaire.
Why and how did you think of becoming a doctor?
I’ve always, since my childhood, ‘pictured’ the idea that a doctor is not just trained, but also equipped, to taking away the pain and suffering of others — through medical treatment and appropriate healthcare — while making a positive impact on their lives. It was this credo that propelled me to becoming a doctor.
What made you think of, study and specialise in the system of medicine you now practice?
Ayurveda always focuses on long-term benefits, while treating the ‘root cause’ of disease, or illness. It aims to treating patients through personalised medicine — because, each of us is as unique as our signature, or fingerprint.
What has been your personal and professional experience as a doctor?
As a doctor, I believe that it is important to diagnose illness and provide appropriate treatment, while being unprejudiced, emotionally stable, confident, and organised.
What unique and special skills you think you have that has made the big difference for your patients?
I practice in a rural area — so, remembering the names of my patients is just as important as greeting them in accordance with the local customs. You may call it Ayurveda at the grassroots level. This, I reckon, has made the big difference.
